This assembly includes the spark ignition switches and wiring harness that control the igniter circuits on a gas range or cooktop. The switches detect burner position and signal the igniters to spark when a burner knob is turned. Replace this assembly if burners fail to ignite, click continuously without lighting, or if the spark module does not activate consistently.
My husband and myself didn't agree on which part was the exact problem. He felt it was the valve. I felt it was the ignitor/ orifice. And we both agreed the Harness-Ignitor needed to be replaced. After turning off the gas and unplugging the electricity, I removed all the burners from the stove top using a 3/16" hex socket. Then used a 1/4" socket to removed two or three screws under each burner which hold the burner base to the bottom of the top panel.
