Evaporater fan would not run. Unplug the fridge and plug it back in and the fan would run for a while. Installed the UI-KIT SXS and the problem was fixed. Had a friend who is an appliance repair tech. Replace the evaporator, the heater coil, and the filter/drier. Parts were soldered together and the compressor was put under vacuum. Then, charged with 5 oz. of refrigerant. The freezer works great now! Read more

Walk into the kitchen on 21 Sep. Eight year old Frigidaire refrigerator appears to be short cycling, controls are nonfunctional. Unplug it for a few minutes, plug it back in, appears to return to normal function. Return to kitchen half hour 45 minutes later it's short cycling again. The guy from sears quoted 450 dollars to replace the control board. That's an huge amount of money to throw on a fridge that's is only 3 years old. Did some research online and cane across appliancepartpros website and they had the parts for 130. Ordered it it was shipped to me in 2 days. The repair was easy. My problem started with a rusting condition in the ice bin that spiraled out of hand. I took apart the ice bin and all the hardware thinking I could clean it with the suggested baking powder. Plastic parts cleaned up like new, metal parts were pitted. I wire brushed and sanded the parts put it all back together and gave it a try.
