There are a lot of suggestions online to try and buy yourself time with this error. I tried the index card between the ribbon cable and the pencil eraser I clean the ribbon cable contacts, but the error came back. I disconnected the ribbon cable from the ERC and still got the error, so I knew it was the ERC I needed to deal with. All of the information on the web repair sites said "replace the hinges as the springs are worn out." Didn't fix the problem. The top of the door still wouldn't seal, and the. Leaning latch wouldn't catch the door unless you pressed on the door. The inside panel of the door was fatigued. Too many turkeys were set on the door over the years.
