The Asm Gasket Door Fre is an OEM part for GE refrigerators. This assembly gasket is designed to create an airtight seal around the refrigerator door, preventing warm air from entering and helping to maintain the internal temperature, which is crucial for keeping food fresh.
Causes of a bad door gasket can include regular wear and tear from frequent door openings and closings, damage from cleaning, and exposure to temperature fluctuations. Over time, the gasket may become brittle, crack, or develop mold, compromising its ability to seal properly.
Symptoms of a bad door gasket include:
- Warm air entering the refrigerator, causing increased internal temperatures
- The refrigerator running more frequently or for longer periods
- Visible cracks, tears, or mold on the gasket
- Difficulty in closing the refrigerator door securely
This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
