I unplugged the machine from the electric socket and removed the drain hose. I then shut the water valves to the unit. I removed the two screws from the rear sides of the control panel. I gently lifted the control panel and tilted it forward resting it on the lid of the machine to expose the control knobs. Based upon the symptoms, I determined that the User Interface was failing. Caution: Unplug the unit before working on it, and watch for sharp edges inside of the cabinet. To replace the module, I popped the top off the unit by removing the three 1/4" screws on the back edge, and then sliding the top panel backward until it cleared the guides that hold it in place.
