Based upon the symptoms, I determined that the User Interface was failing. Caution: Unplug the unit before working on it, and watch for sharp edges inside of the cabinet. To replace the module, I popped the top off the unit by removing the three 1/4" screws on the back edge, and then sliding the top panel backward until it cleared the guides that hold it in place. The link to the technical manual was very helpful. Determined that the control board was likely the problem. Very easy to order and I knew that appliancepartspros.com had a return policy in case that didn't fix it. Got the part the day after I ordered it even just with ground shipping.
