I got the entire ASM and replaced it. It was very easy, the hardest part being removing the caps that cover the screws. After the screws (2) were removed, the ASM popped out and the new one went right in easily. Read more

This was easier then I made it. Originally took the actual ice maker out without removing the whole system from the door. There are 3 silver screws that do that hold the whole mechanism in place, as opposed to the 5 white screws that hold the ice maker in place. With the entire assembly out it was a matter of routing the ground wire, retaping the wires, and then the whole assembly went back into the door without a problem.
