Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Our ge front loader washing machine was leaking water from the left side of the washing machine   Victoria M. • Falmouth , ME • February 01, 2015

We diagnosed our washing machine by taking off the bottom front panel of the washing machine and discovered that water & detergent was pouring out of the upper left detergent dispenser area. On closer inspection we could see that the water inlet pipe was cracked which was allowing water & detergent to leak into the interior of the washing machine and onto the floor. Your rep helped me find the correct part as all I knew was how it looked ( I explained that it looked like a white plastic... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Leaking door seal & excess water in detergent dispenser   Justin L. • Setauket , NY • January 03, 2017

I replaced the door seal for the leak. We had a small tear in the sealing surface that resulted in water dripping down the front of the machine (just below the door). I also replaced the detergent dispenser main box with diverter unit. This corrected excessive water being left inside the detergent dispenser at the end of each cycle. I highly recommend replacing the dispenser seal and gasket nozzle to be on the safe side. As these parts are subject to wear and fatigue over the life of the... Read more

Spring Hanger (Washer Suspension)
Genuine Ge part

  • Disconnect power and water supply; access the hanger location per your model's service procedure
  • Support the tub and control spring tension with locking pliers; wear gloves and eye protection

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You My ge front loader was stopping mid cycle with a t2 e22 error code   Roger H. • Sewickley , PA • November 05, 2014

Troubleshooting guide said no water, but in fact there was too much water because the water level sensor was not operating properly. Code check said E22 - Fill timeout. Reason was that the air hose feeding the water level sensor had a pin hole. There was a spot on the hose between the 2 foam donuts that seems to have worn due to flexing. Air leak prevented pressure from reaching the water level sensor. Replaced the hose - problem solved! Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Basket spider rotted and broke.   Gary V. • Morrisville , PA • December 09, 2017

I found two methods to make the repair, one involved removing the entire outer tub ( need a helper to lift it out) and splitting it apart outside the washer. The other method was to split the outer tub while still in the machine. I was working by myself so I used the second method. This repair took the better part of the day and is not for the faint of heart, lots of parts to remove and keep track of. I took several photo during disassembly to refer to when going back together. I found mostly... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Broken drive belt and worn pulley on ge front loading washer   Roger P. • Longmont , CO • September 19, 2014

I replaced the broken drive belt first and noticed the drive pulley loose. The nut that had held it in place had backed off. This resulted in significant wear on the pulley hub. I just tightened it up and installed the belt. I noticed the belt had a tendency to change its position on the pulley depending on the direction of rotation. I was a bit concerned but decided to see what would happen. This fix lasted for about a week. The belt came off the pulley and broken again. I called a... Read more
