The Flood Switch Assembly is an OEM part for GE dishwashers. This part detects water levels and prevent overfilling by shutting off the water supply if a potential flood condition is detected.

Ordered a new flood switch and activation stem from Aplliance Parts Pros.com. Order was delivered in about 3 days. Installed new switch and stem in about 15 min. Removed front kicker panel with two screws, the switch was just inside the panel secured with two screws. remove the electrical connector, removed screws, replace the two new parts..put the screws back in place and ran the washer...no overflows. Thanks to appliancepartspros.com the dishwasher was able to be repaired quickly and under budget. I removed the motor pump assembly and replaced it. I ordered the part from Appliance Parts Pros; it arrived in three working days. I turned off the power and shut off the water to the dish washer, took off the toe guard and unscrewed the appliance from the countertop. I hoped that I could pull the dish washer out from under the counter without disconnecting the water and wiring as I had seen done in the video. AUsing the model number of the dishwasher, I located the part onling. After ordering the unicouple assembly from Appliance Parts Pros, which arrived very promptly at my home, I began to take the back and top off the dishwasher. Found a service manual that is close enough to my GE dishwasher. Service Manual for GE Dishwasher-EDW4000 was found on the following webpage. http://www.applianceaid.com/pdf/serv-man-EDW4000.pdf Gives enough information to test out the dishwasher. Read it, check out Factory Test Mode. GE should have given this out as a normal User Manual. The usual user manual lack anything to help troubleshoot a problem. Read more
