The Wire Tie is an OEM part for GE dryers. It is used to secure and organize internal wiring, ensuring that wires remain properly positioned and do not interfere with the operation of the dryer. This part plays an important role in preventing wires from becoming tangled, pinched, or damaged during the dryer’s cycles.
Over time, the wire tie can become worn out, broken, or damaged due to prolonged exposure to heat, vibrations, or wear from normal use. A compromised wire tie can lead to loose or unsecured wiring, which may impact the performance of the dryer or cause electrical issues.
Symptoms of a bad Dryer Wire Tie include:
This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
Soon as we received the part, it was installed on the washer and it's working better than before. Thanks, Appliance Parts Pros. Read more
I replaced the ball and socket connection for the drum. After doing so, I realized that the belt had been stretched and the tension pulley was not putting enough tension on the belt to turn the drum. After ordering a new belt, extra screw that was lost while disassembling the dryer, and some high temperature lubricant for the drum ball and socket the dryer now runs as well as it did when it was new. Fix a washer that won't advance through cycles or skips fill/agitate steps. This timer controls cycle sequencing. DIY repair in about 30 minutes.
I removed the dial knob and plate as instructed by the video, removed the front panel of the washer to access the switch. I found the plastic molded bracket that the timer rests on to be broken and the tab on the timer where it is attached by a screw to be broken. I ordered a replacement switch, dial and knob. When it arrived I replaced the parts as instructed, but I had to use super glue to hold the new switch in place due to the support tab on the washer panel being broken off. After letting... Read more
Replacement water fill hoses for washing machines. Connect home water supply to washer. Replace when cracked, leaking, or showing rubber wear or corrosion.
Motor control board was flashing 4 times, indicating that the mode shifter had an error. I disconnected the mode shifter's wire from the controller and measured the resistance between the 2 leads with an ohmmeter. Since the reading was infinite, that meant that the mode shifter coil or in-line thermal sensor was electrically open, i.e. bad. As this fix is near a complete tear-down of the washing machine, here are a few tips I discovered. 1) the hub nut is difficult to remove and you need a... Read more

This is a small C-clip or retainer ring that secures the idler pulley to its bracket on a laundry center. It keeps the pulley in place so the drive belt maintains proper tension against the drum. Replace this ring if the idler pulley has come loose, the drum belt slips or falls off, or the dryer drum does not spin properly.
This replacement shield is a direct-fit protective cover that restores the appliance's factory protection for internal components. It prevents contact with sensitive parts and helps keep wiring and controls clear of debris. What it does:
I took the front panel off and exposed the mechanism. Inside the shield is a capacitor, so I guessed that the capacitor was bad. I ordered a new shield which contains a new capacitor, installed it, and the washer now works normally again. At first the pump motor made a few clicks before it started running, so I believe the drain pump had an obstruction of some kind inside it, like a bolus of sand, that caused the motor to seize temporarily and burned out the capacitor. It's possible the... Read more
