We removed the spray arm from the Spray Arm Hub and Support Assembly (GE part WD22X126) and discovered that the Check Valve (GE part WD1X5488), which prevents dirty water from flowing back into the tub, was missing completely. Replacement was very easy - the soft rubber valve pushes into position from the inside of the Support Assembly. We also found that the Plastic Thrust Washer (GE part WD3X766) inside the center of the Spray Arm Hub had eroded considerably, so we replaced that as well. Read more

The knob just popped in. For the door spring/cable assembly I removed the lower (black) kick panel that is right under the door and the springs fell out since one cable was completely broken. I replaced both cables since the other had some rust evident on it. Getting the cable assemblies on the springs was a little difficult because the spring hooks were closed against the spring. Had to use pliers to lift them a bit. Hook the cable ends to the door, then make the last spring connections... Read more
