I replaced the upper and mid spray arms and bearings, removed filters and screens and cleaned everything. Pulled pump and replaced the connector and the collection sump. Internal water reservoir with attached tubing that stores and delivers chilled water to the dispenser. Replace if cracked, leaking, or damaged.
Installing the tank went quickly. Removed the water filter from the upper compartment to stop water flow to the tank. Had to remove the two lower drawers (they tilt out of their sliding frames). There is a glass shelf that should be pulled out - it slides out via two notches in the front frame. The water tank is behind a white metal cover held by 4 screws. The problem was most likely the evaporator fan motor but it could have been a bad blade, loose parts or bad motor mounts. Hard to tell without taking everything apart and inspecting. Since fridge was 17 years old I decided to order the entire evaporator fan assembly as shown in the parts diagram including fan blade, motor brackets, motor, motor mounts, screws, etc. Getting to the assembly involved removing the ice maker unit plus the entire rear inside of the freezer section. I found several other parts that needed to be replaced as well. Once All the parts were received, I again watched the video. The hinge broke on the ice dispenser funnel and housing. I took them off and replace them, putting the old switches and bulb in the new housing. It took some time to put the return spring back because it does not appear in the assembly diagram. Once working, it secures to the door with 4 screws, and worked as it should.
