We called the phone number on the unit, gave them the model number and the price of the replacement handle including tax and shipping was $112.00. We then looked on line at Appliance Parts Pro and got the identical part including tax and shipping for $70.00. This is the front-facing outer door panel for a trash compactor, featuring a stainless steel finish. It serves as the visible exterior surface of the compactor drawer, providing a clean and finished appearance. Replace this panel if it is dented, scratched, rusted, or otherwise cosmetically damaged.
You need to remove the entire compactor basket, so that can be a little unwieldy. There are 8 total Phillips head screws. Two on each side of the wrap-around portion of the panel, two on the bottom of the panel, and two larger screws that are used to hold the foot pedal in place. The two lower screws on the bottom of the panel also screw through the rubber stop strip on the bottom of the basket.
