GE Gas Dryer Model DBVH512GF1WW began to heat for only a short amount of time so drying clothes took WAY too long. Read online that the first thing to replace are the solenoids. Fix melted plastic or goop marks on clothes with a new dryer heat diffuser. Replaces damaged diffuser that causes staining. DIY repair with 3 screws.
Removed 3 screws which required a torx bit. Used small headless nails to line up the holes and use as a guide for sliding on new diffuser. Put screws in one at a time and tightened down. rotating the drum helped with slight mis-alignement with the screw holes. Read more
