Used small headless nails to line up the holes and use as a guide for sliding on new diffuser. Put screws in one at a time and tightened down. rotating the drum helped with slight mis-alignement with the screw holes. Kristy B Mapleton , UT May 09, 2015 The heat diffuser had goop on it that kept getting on the clothes when i dried them First we replaced the heat diffuser by just unscrewing the 3 screws and replacing the part. When the dryer was turned back on we realized that it was not put on properly. We looked up how to replace a diffuser on the net and then realized you need to take out the drum to replace it.
