The charcoal filter in the GE Microwave Oven was falling apart. Despite the directions, it is difficult to pull out but eventually worked it around the outer flange. Putting the new one in is a simple slide in. Then replace the grill and put the two screws back in. Read more

Ordered a new OEM from Appliance Parts Pros. I would suggest ordering the Choke cover also for only $10.33. My cover broke as I removed it and had to wait another 3 days for that part before I could finish the job. at least the microwave was still functional. Read more
Read the reviews on the web. All research pointed to replacing the Control Panel. Watched a YouTube. Ordered the Panel. Replacement was pretty easy. Part was not cheap. Paid about $160. The GE microwave is a good one and the incremental cost of repair seemed to make financial sense rather than ordering a new one. In this disposable world we live in, glad I took time to make the repair. Read more
