This is a black cast iron double burner grate that spans two burners on a gas range cooktop, providing a stable surface for pots and pans. It supports cookware over the flames and allows for even heat distribution. Replace this grate if it is cracked, warped, rusted, or if its feet are worn down, causing cookware to sit unevenly.
Fix a burner that won't stay lit or has a weak yellow flame. This venturi tube mixes air with gas for proper combustion. Easy 15-minute repair.
If your gas burner won't spark or lights intermittently, the igniter switch may have failed. This direct-fit control restores reliable ignition.
I changed out the white burners for black ones which will be easier to clean. This is a simple matter of removing two screws on each burner. The one igniter switch turned out to be okay, but was not fully seated on the valve shaft. As to lighting off issues, the new burners helped, but the most improvement came from removing the burners and cleaning the orifices that supply gas to the burner tubes with a bit of fine wire. I replaced the downdraft fan and fan motor of my 25 year old JennAire C301 cooktop. The issue was getting the fan/motor assembly out in such a tight place. I had to first remove the fan cover, cut the wires, then the assembly came out. Putting back wasn't as tough although getting the cover back on (over the motor) was a bit of a strain. Wired it back, turned it on, and was thrilled. Now I'll replace the knobs and burners and we're back in business. Read more
