I ordered a new igniter based on serial numbers. Maytag manufacturers Jen Air so it wasn't hard to order a replacement. Taking everything apart was straight forward. The connection on the new part was different from the old part so I cut the old connection and spliced it on the new part, make sure you use the insulating wrap from the old part on the new spliced connection to protect it. I had to remove the oven door, which I learned is made to come off without tools. Then took out the bottom by removing two screws and lifting. Removed the screws attaching the igniter, pulled wires thru back until I could get the connector and disconnect. When the new igniter arrived, I had to change the connector. I cut the one off the old one, and spliced to the new one using solder and shrink tubing. Just reverse the procedure to install. I replaced the screws with new ones. Read more
