Replaced it with a new one. Used a screwdriver to pry away the panel around the inside of the door glass. Unscrewed the top and bottom screws that held the handle on the door. Removed the old handle and replaced it with a new one. Used tweezers to put the bottom screw into the bottom hole. Used old screws to mount handle since the new handle didn't come with screws. I have one of those combo units with the microwave on top and the oven on the bottom. The thermometer switch located on the upper right side mounted on top of the magnetron read open on a continuity test. Replaced the thermal fuse. Everything works fine now. Note: The thermal switch on the left side read closed, the fan switch on the lower right side read open. I just watched some youtube videos on what and how to test the components. I had to remove the microwave from the range and then remove the cover from the microwave to determine the exact problem. After a visual inspection then discharging the high voltage capacitor, I used a meter to test the high voltage diode and fuses. After using the meter to ohm out the magnetron, I removed it from the unit, and seeing that the hole in the end of the magnetron's tube was enlarged and burnt, as if it was arcing, I assumed it was the bad part. Color: metallic. It measures about 6 inches wide by 4 inches deep.
There were 3 door switches. Check all the switches and it was the bottom which ran the fan. The top 2 switches were fine. Take top cover of the microware. 3 screws on top. Move the cover 1/3 to your left and the cover come of. There is screw in the front to remove the control panel Take the panel of and then take the 2 screws of which hold the switches. Ordered exact replacement part from AppliancePartsPros.com. Removed door, vent panel and touch panel from my under-the-counter microwave, removed circuit board from old touch panel, installed on new touch panel and reinstalled everything on microwave. Only difficulty was attaching two of the screws for the circuit board -the plastic mounting holes seemed undersized/screw was binding and could not be tightened flush. Read more
Replace entire keypad. 1) Removed vent guard across top microwave. 2) Removed screw and dislodged keyboard. 3) Disconnects wiring harnesses from circuit board, and unscrewed grounding screw. 4) Unscrewed circuit board from old keypad and transferred to new keypad and screwed down. 5) Reconnected all the wiring harnesses and grounding screw. 6) Fitted keypad back onto microwave, and fitted and screwed vent cover back in place.
