Watched youtube video about taking door apart. did so carefully to not snap clips. it came apart fairly easily. cleaned smudged glass. whited-out scorch mark on metal screen. ordered new film. applied film carefully (it's sticky so line it up carefully for a one and done; no peeling and re-try). Initially, I thought the problem was likely the "Smartboard" which controls everything in the unit. When a replacement didn't fix the issue, I took the keyboard panel and found the keypad area is actually sealed except for the ribbon cable that exits the keyboard chamber. I blew air into that opening and re-assembled the unit. Ordered door switches, but didn't solve problem. Sent them back for credit. Ordered thermostat and it solved the problem. Microwave now works fine. The unit is only 7 years old and hope to get another 7 or more out of it. Thanks. Read more

I have one of those combo units with the microwave on top and the oven on the bottom. The thermometer switch located on the upper right side mounted on top of the magnetron read open on a continuity test. Replaced the thermal fuse. Everything works fine now. After confirming the part number by visiting several Web sites and looking up that same part, (smart control board) for my microwave oven, I placed my order. I was surprized by the speed that the order was processed, receiving the part almost immediately. Now I am a mechanic with a high tech background.
