The Microwave Door Switch is an OEM part for GE microwaves, designed to prevent the microwave from operating when the door is open by interrupting the power whenever the door is not securely closed. The door switch is an essential safety feature.
Symptoms of a failing Microwave Door Switch include:
Causes of a bad Microwave Door Switch can result from repeated opening and closing of the door or slamming that can cause the switch to degrade or become misaligned, leading to intermittent or failure.
This OEM GE part can also be used on Hotpoint, RCA, and Kenmore/Sears appliances.
The first symptom was our microwave would continue to run after the time was up. The light would go out, the turn table would stop but you could still hear the microwave running and whatever was in it would continue to cook. The only way to stop it was to open the door. It was intermittent at first but eventually it would always run no matter what as long as the door was closed. Several other posts referenced these switches as the problem. I just replaced both and problem gone. It turns out... Read more
This is a monitor or interlock switch that detects whether the microwave door is properly closed before allowing the unit to operate. It is a safety device that shuts off microwave power if the door is open or if other door switches malfunction. Replace this switch if the microwave does not start, runs with the door open, or blows a fuse when the door is closed.
The Fuse is an OEM part for GE microwaves. It serves as a safety device designed to protect the microwave from excessive current that can cause overheating and potential fire hazards. When the current flowing through the microwave circuit exceeds a certain level, the fuse blows or breaks, cutting off the power to prevent damage or fire.
Common causes for a fuse to blow include power surges, faulty wiring within the appliance, or the use of microwave inappropriate containers that cause sparks. It is essential to address these issues not only to replace the fuse but also to correct the underlying problems to prevent future failures.
Symptoms of a bad fuse include:
This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
I read on line about other such ovens doing the same thing mine was doing, absolutely nothing! I even read stories of a major retailer telling customers to throw the microwave away. There's nothing you can do to fix it. After replacing a simple fuse that I ordered from you, the Advantium is as good as new. It took a grand total of 5 minutes to make the repair. The shipping cost more than the part, but it was all very worthwhile. Read more

Microwave not heating but lights and timer work? The high voltage diode converts AC to DC for the magnetron. DIY repair in 1-2 hours with basic tools.
Wife let me know the microwave was making grinding noise while I was in garage fixing her car starter, never a dull moment. Further questioning she also said it wan't heating the food. Due to being an odd sized built in $$ unit I had to have repaired. I was getting quotes in the $4-500 range for just the magnetron. I was pretty confident the magnetron was the issue and also ordered a new capacitor and diode since I was going to be in there and a lot of money ahead repairing myself. About... Read more
The Lower Lever Switch is an OEM replacement part for GE microwaves. This component activates the door interlock switch when the microwave door is closed. It ensures that the microwave only operates when the door is securely closed, preventing any operational hazards. Symptoms of a bad Lower Lever Switch include:
Common causes for a malfunctioning Lower Lever Switch can be attributed to mechanical wear from frequent use, damage incurred during cleaning or use, or internal issues affecting the switch’s activation mechanism. This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
I ordered the door switches, switch monitor and the lever switch. i replaced all of the parts and the oven started to function only to have it fail again after 2-3 operations. I eventually determined that the main fuse holder was not completely securing the fuse. i believe the combination of new switches and realigning the fuse clip solved the problem. Read more

Microwave turntable not turning? The turntable motor rotates the glass tray for even heating. Simple DIY repair with basic tools in under an hour.
Unplug your microwave. Took the screws off of the bottom of the unit with it still on the cabinet. The whole bottom panel swung down to expose the turntable motor. I took the power cable loose (just pull it off). It was one screw to take the motor out. Word to the wise: DON'T try to take the plastic coupler off before the motor. Their is a tab that holds it in while the motor is in place. If you pry it up you will break it, trust me. ;) Turn the motor out of its housing and it come right out.... Read more
Fix a microwave that won't heat or hums but doesn't start. This capacitor stores energy for the high-voltage circuit. Moderate DIY repair, 30-60 minutes.
This thermal fuse is a safety device designed to cut off power to the microwave if internal temperatures exceed safe limits. It is a small, inline fuse typically mounted near the magnetron or cavity. Replace this part if the microwave has completely stopped working with no display or response, especially after an overheating event.
Replaced the thermostat and it turned on and I have power again. Read more
Microwave not heating food? A failed magnetron is the most common cause. This high-voltage tube generates microwave energy to heat and cook food properly.
Chatted with a verified expert at justanswer.com (for a fee), he confirmed the parts I needed. AppliancePartsPros.com had them in stock AND they were 100% returnable/refundable if I didn't use them or weren't what was bad, even if I installed them! Where can you get that kind of guarantee anymore? Used some YouTube videos to learn how to support the microwave to get it down, & we moved it to the table, I took out the old magnetron and high voltage diode and replaced with the OEM magnetron and... Controls exhaust airflow in over-the-range microwaves. Replaces bent, damaged, or missing damper assemblies for proper external venting installation.
We followed the manufacturer's instructions about re-positioning the fan motor and installing the vent damper (easy). We constructed a duct system from the microwave to the outside of the house (challenging). We used 3.25" x 10" metal duct to start the system through the wall behind the microwave, where we added framing to reinforce a cut stud. We ran the duct up a closet wall and through its ceiling into the attic. We had to make an offset duct piece from 3.25" x 10" metal duct to clear a... Read more

Well, after I accessed the place where the charcoal filter would be, I found out that there was NO CHARCOAL FILTER AT ALL! No wonder the circulating fan did not take cooking odors out of the room! So your website told me what to order, I ordered it and it was here in no time! So, the microwave was installed by the builder of this house and he never installed the filter. The previous owner must not have done a whole lot of cooking, but we do. So we will now have the air filtered when we cook and... Read more
