Fix a microwave that won't heat or hums but doesn't start. This capacitor stores energy for the high-voltage circuit. Moderate DIY repair, 30-60 minutes.
Wife let me know the microwave was making grinding noise while I was in garage fixing her car starter, never a dull moment. Further questioning she also said it wan't heating the food. Due to being an odd sized built in $$ unit I had to have repaired. I was getting quotes in the $4-500 range for just the magnetron. I was pretty confident the magnetron was the issue and also ordered a new capacitor and diode since I was going to be in there and a lot of money ahead repairing myself. About... Read more

We just popped the replacement parts in. By the way, Sears that sells the Kenmore, the make of our microwave, didn't have the parts we needed online. I was very pleased with my Chat experience with RobinC from your website. She located the parts I needed and even arranged the payment. Great service! Read more
Charcoal filter removes cooking odors and grease vapors from recirculating microwaves. Replace when odors persist. Confirm fit with your model number.
I bought a house that had an old (but serviceable) Kenmore microwave over the stove. When I cooked on the stove the poor microwave filters couldn't do their job and the whole house got stunk out.. I drove to Sears who didn't stock them. I went online to Sears.com and they didn't stock them either. Then I found AppliancePartsPros.com and they had everything really cheap!! I ordered them and immediately replaced the grease filters with no tools. I looked at the schematic drawing for the... Read more
Microwave turntable not turning? The turntable motor rotates the glass tray for even heating. Simple DIY repair with basic tools in under an hour.
Unplug your microwave. Took the screws off of the bottom of the unit with it still on the cabinet. The whole bottom panel swung down to expose the turntable motor. I took the power cable loose (just pull it off). It was one screw to take the motor out. Word to the wise: DON'T try to take the plastic coupler off before the motor. Their is a tab that holds it in while the motor is in place. If you pry it up you will break it, trust me. ;) Turn the motor out of its housing and it come right out.... Read more

The start button had been tricky to use. You had to push it in just a certain way to get the dryer to start. Eventually it was non-responsive. All other controls worked and there was no error code displayed. The repair was to replace the whole control board which cost around $100. Heavy sigh.. Be sure to keep track of all your screws. BTW it was not the thermal fuse. All the online videos say this is the first thing to look for when the dryer will not start. Be sure to check with the person... Read more

Inner door frame assembly for microwaves. Supports window, trim, handle, and latch alignment. Replace if cracked, broken, or structural clips damaged.
Careful placement of new screws into the inside of the outer door that now hold the frame assembly to the door secured the frame assembly to the outer door. All of the other parts I bought and replaced were a waste of money. I figured since I had them I might as well install them anyways. Easier than sending them back since I had the whole thing apart anyways. The part I really needed was no longer available, the outside door. The glass reinstalled into the retainers in the door without a... Read more
Fixes microwaves with no power or that stop mid-cycle. This thermostat switch monitors temperature and protects against overheating. Simple repair.
This is a 25 year old built-in over-the-range appliance. Only previous problem was 1 failed door switch (of 3 total), replaced 2 years ago. First checked all 3 door switches with continuity tester, all ok. Had advice to check thermostat switches, which were all supposedly NC (normally closed), used same tester. Found one thermo that was open, ordered and installed replacement, but oven still dead. Used heat gun to warm the open thermo (while not installed) and using tester again, found that... Read more

It wasn't easy because this microwave over-the-stove light was difficult to find at a reasonable price. However, I did find one at AppliancePartsPros.com.
