This is an extension piece for the ice maker shut-off arm inside the freezer compartment. It lengthens the sensing arm so it can properly detect when the ice bin is full and signal the ice maker to stop producing ice. Replace this extension if the ice maker continuously produces ice and overfills the bin, or if the original extension is broken or missing.
