When I ordered the correct part from Appliance Parts Pro and, here's the big takeaway, I watched the accompanying video. With this repair there were 4 connectors coming thru 2 openings of the rear oven wall. In the video it advised to tie a twist tie around each so they couldn't slip back into the rear panel. Although it took longer than expected (about two hours) it was not difficult. disassembled the door and replaced the glass. reassembling the door was a little tricky, next time would take half the time. Bottom line is that it is fixed. Read more
Be careful not to tighten or twist the small hex nut in the knob cylinder/housing with force. there is a very small plastic set tab that can be broken off easily. how do I know? The orientation of the switch "box" is horizontal instead of vertical. otherwise, this replacement part # works as expected. I couldn't get the switch to attach plate removed, and the switch removed, without removing the entire cooktop and removing the top glass burner cover. Not difficult, but time-consuming. Read more

The first thing I did was call appliance pros. The tec told me it was a good chance it was the thermostat. He told how to test it with my ohm meter and what range it should be in.
