Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Door clicking, door not closing easily   Mike K. • Broadview Heights , OH • January 27, 2020

Replaced both sets of door cams on my Kenmore Elite Refrigerator. The most important thing to know is that you DO NOT have to remove the doors from the refrigerator to replace BOTH sets of cams. You just have to remove the lower grill which is a snap fit (I also turned off the water and unplugged the unit). My fridge has an ice and water dispenser where the water and electrical lines go through the cams on the left side. Be sure to order the correct parts as the cam holes on the freezer side... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Leaking refrigerator no ice or water from dispensers   Thomas H. • Arlington , VA • October 09, 2016

I had to remove a metal panel at the bottom back of the freezer as well as a couple of shelf slides in order to get at a drain pan in the back. It was frozen solid, so I stabbed at it with an ice pick until I broke through, followed up by poking a coat hanger in the drain hole to clear as much as I could, then poured a little boiling water over it to follow up. After screwing it all back together, the ice maker surprisingly was working again in less than 20 minutes. I also replaced a broken... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You A failed freezer door switch was causing the fridge to display that the door was open when it was not this caused it to beep at random   Kara H. • Charleston , SC • March 08, 2016

We actually were able to determine that one of the freezer switches was bad and taped it down for about 3 days. The beeping stopped. Our fridge has two freezer switches and one fridge side switch. I ordered all three from these guys. They were cheaper than Whirlpool by about $20 for parts and about $15 for shipping. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Black flakes in ice and ice cubes in bucket frozen together then water stopped working in door   Douglas M. • Deer Park , NY • January 23, 2023

Replaced water valve to fix water not going to door, easy enough to do. Replaced icemaker which was corroded inside the cube-forming trays causing black flakes to come off stuck to the ice cubes, and was also leaking causing the water to drip into the ice bucket making one giant ice cube. Ten-minute job, which took an hour and a half. this is a 25-year-old unit and I only had access to the plug on the back of the icemaker, the other end was behind the rear wall. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The whirlpool side by side refriderator door hinge cam was worn out door would not shut easily   Kevin W. • Holt , MI • February 06, 2017

I ordered the door hinge cam kit, both the hinge, lower and upper cam. I followed videos found on the web. I would recommend taking the refrigerator door off by removing the upper hinge bracket and lifting the door off the lower hinge. It was much easier to replace the hinge and cam with the door off. One video suggested using Di-electric grease to lubricate the cam surfaces. Read more
