Ordered a new tube so the flapper valves would be clean and close properly. The old flapper valves had buildup on them and would not divert the water to the upper spinner. The cups would get a soap/food scrap residue that hadn't been cleaned off. This fold-down tine pivot for the lower dishrack acts as the hinge and latch for the adjustable tine row. Replacing a worn pivot restores stable loading and allows the tines to flip up or down as designed. What it does:
