Replaces the upper tub ring that mounts on top of the outer tub as a splash guard. Order a new ring if yours is cracked, broken, or no longer securely attached.

Filters debris from incoming water to protect the inlet valve. Replace if water flow is reduced or clogged with sediment. Confirm fit with your model.
Went on internet, found a great site and learned that the cold water hose filter was very much clogged at the machine intake. Cleaned it and voila. Replaced clutch assembly which was a little tricky, but very doable. Just make sure to take your time. I replaced the timer, and the problem was solved. The only problem I had was the screw holes in the new timer would not accept the screws from the old timer, so I used self tapping screws. Otherwise, a straightforward fix and fairly easy to do. Read more

Researched this kenmore washer on-line and found the problem to be the lid switch. Saw a diagram on how to jump this switch by connecting a wire to both outside wires on the harness and voila! It worked! This is not a fix but it allowed me to finish the load of unwashed clothes and told me which part was bad (do not run washer jumped like this.......fire hazard!)
