This small clamping nut secures a mating clamp or bracket so the connected component stays firmly in place. Replacing a worn, stripped, or missing nut restores a solid hold and helps prevent looseness or leaks around the secured area.
I took the wash basket out of the tub to remove all the sludge and scale that had accumulated over the years. But I did not have a spanner wrench to remove the large nut holding the basket to the center shaft. No problem - I used a hammer and chisel on the ears. But didn't realize it was a LEFT HAND THREAD!! An easy fix for the most part. I had no idea what I was doing, but glad I bought both upper and lower injectors. Not sure why these are separate parts? Cheap plastic. I did not get the hose clamp because I didn't think I would need it. You probably do, so go ahead and just order it or grab one if you have one laying around. Replaced the unbalanced lever assembly - cost about $14. I spent about as much time trying to find the part locally as it took to get the part from appliance pros; I ordered the part at 11:45 am on a Monday and the part was waiting for me by the time I got home from work on Tuesday - thank you. Removed shaft with slide hammer and inspected the yoke and gearing replaced the shaft and seals with the shaft kit and replaced the tub bearing. 32 years and still running strong Maytag yeah!!!! Doubt the newer ones will run as long thanks for having the parts. Read more

I removed the front cover and saw water a rusted out drum cover clamp. Water gushed out at this point when i operated the machine. I ordered a new clamp and seal from Appliance Parts Pros, which arrived quickly. I wire-brushed the drum and it's cover clean, in the sealing area and installed the new seal and clamp. The lid shut-off switch is located behind the lid How About That. I order the plastic ball the hold the lid in place plus the lid shut off switch. I watched the video that AppliancePartsPros.com has on how to replace the lid and the plastic balls. I removed the lid to get to the two philips head screws to remove that part of the shut-off switch. I took the new switch out of the package and compared it to the old switch.
