Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You A failed stove top burner valve   Robert S. • Ventura , CA • December 08, 2015

After turning off the gas and unplugging the electricity, I removed all the burners from the stove top using a 3/16" hex socket. Then used a 1/4" socket to removed two or three screws under each burner which hold the burner base to the bottom of the top panel. Then pulled all the knobs and removed the front panel which was held in by two Phillips screws accessible from underneath the panel. It helps to open the oven door to get at these screws. I looked up and ordered a new display panel. Since it was not showing anything I was hoping something on the board just failed. When I got the new part I plugged it in and it has been working fine since. I wish I could have found some trouble shooting options for this type of problem but I could not find anything related to a blank display. Like I said fortunately the new panel worked. Iremember it took about 4 days to get the part which was not bad considering I did not want to pay for... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Changing oven from lp to natural gas   Kim G. • Prescott Valley , AZ • March 06, 2016

We bought a stove off Craigslist and didn't realize it was LP Gas until we got it home and my husband was hooking it up and the burners wouldn't light all the way around. My husband has been out of the gas company for over 10 years now and was a little rusty on what was happening. I jumped online and when I read that the possibility was because LP Gas, my husband said..."thats it." Part Number: 316499806

Make sure they are locked in place securely and don't sit unevenly. This Frigidaire grate kit is sourced directly from Frigidaire as a genuine OEM replacement part. The component is sold individually. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The moving men broke the outer door glass on our stove   John C. • Philadelphia , PA • August 28, 2014

Very carefully. The official Frigidaire repairman's quote was $250, despite my already removing the door. I complained to the companies customer service answering machine that this is about 40% of the cost of a new stove. The quote was unreasonably high since it appeared that a trained monkey could replace the glass in about 15 minutes. It took this trained monkey about 30 minutes to replace the glass.
