This is a surface burner valve for a gas range that controls the flow of gas to an individual cooktop burner. It connects to the burner knob and regulates gas output to adjust flame height. Replace this valve if a burner won't light, the flame cannot be adjusted, or you notice gas leaking near the control knob area.

I replaced the ball and socket connection for the drum. After doing so, I realized that the belt had been stretched and the tension pulley was not putting enough tension on the belt to turn the drum.
