This safety switch assembly detects whether your washer door is properly closed and latched before allowing operation. It prevents the washer from running with an open door and stops the cycle if the door opens during operation. Replace this part if your washer won't start, stops mid-cycle unexpectedly, or runs with the door open.
Water pump replacement was a breeze. The hardest part was getting to the back of the washer (installed in a motorhome). Switch replacement was a little trickier. Be sure to read the instructions shipped with the switch! Replacement switch has a different pin arrangement than the original. This button controls the main power function of your washing machine, turning the unit on and off. It sends an electrical signal to the control board to initiate or stop operation. Replace this button if your washer won't turn on, turns off unexpectedly during cycles, or if the button feels loose or unresponsive.
