This clothes mover is the upper agitator section in many top-load washers. It ratchets to circulate laundry through the wash bath, restoring proper rollover and cleaning when the original auger becomes cracked, stripped, or slips under load.
- Sits on top of the lower agitator and indexes with each stroke to move clothes through water and detergent
- Helps maintain proper turnover for even cleaning and fabric care
- Typical failure signs: top agitator not advancing, clothes not circulating, or clicking/slipping during agitation
- Visible cracks or rounded internal drive surfaces indicate the part should be replaced
Includes: One clothes mover. Installation notes:
- Unplug the washer and turn off water; wear appropriate safety gloves
- Remove the fabric softener dispenser and inner cap to access the agitator bolt
- Use a suitable socket/extension to remove the bolt, lift off the old clothes mover, seat the new one, and reinstall the bolt/caps securely
- Run a brief cycle to verify proper agitation
