So I read a number of the earlier posts regarding the required repairs and went forward with all those repairs. In short, I replaced the wiring harness, door switches, and bulbs. The problem still persisted so I went ahead and replaced the control board. That did the trick. So for my unit, LG LFX25960ST replacing all those components were required. After checked the cooling coil on the back of freezer showing ice built up around the coil, I thought defrost heater did not working that cause a lot of ice blocking cold air traveling. While waiting the new defrost heater, I plugged in refrigerator through a timer that off and on every 6 hours. If not, refrigerator will turn off itself every 7-8 hours and make refrigerator not cooling several hours during the time I am not home and sleeping. It occurred to me that it was a fix I could handle on my own since it was a part unto its own. Therefore I looked up the part number found the website and ordered. Installation: took out the offensive part, replaced it with the new one and I once again had a viable dispenser. Read more
After being told by the technician that the part did not exist anymore by LG, we contacted LG and they gave us a replacement part number that no one had, no online, no onsite, and we contacted Appliance Parts Pros, chat with their agents and they ordered the part directly from LG, LG took about 7 days (business) for the back order part but surely enough the part came after few days.
