Straight knurled pin that secures knobs or small components to a shaft for a tight, slip-resistant fit. Replaces a worn or missing pin to stop loose, wobbly, or spinning knobs and restore reliable engagement. What it does:
- Secures knobs, dials or small parts to control shafts by providing a press-fit, knurled surface.
- Prevents wobble, slipping, or spinning of control knobs that won't turn with the shaft.
- Common service symptom: knob spins freely or fails to engage controls.
- Used where a small metal pin is required to lock a component onto a splined or smooth shaft.
What's included: One straight knurled pin. Install notes:
- Disconnect power and unplug the appliance before servicing.
- Remove the knob or access panel to reach the shaft; pin is typically press-fit.
- Removal/installation may require needle-nose pliers, a small punch, or a bench press; protect surrounding parts from damage.
- Keep small parts away from children and follow appliance safety guidelines; replace mating hardware if the shaft or hole is damaged.

Whirlpool shaking Willy P. • Victorville , CA • May 19, 2019
Weekend laundry became very noisy, our 1987 Whirlpool washer began doing a dance across the floor and the drum was banging into the inner cabinet. After doing some research and watching a few videos on Appliance parts pros website. I inspected the washer and noticed one leg the rubber coating disintegrated, decided to change all four legs, springs and lid switch. Hardest part of the job is getting the cabinet together. Ops check good.
