This white control-area closure covers and protects the appliance's control console while restoring a clean, finished appearance. It helps shield buttons and electronics from spills and debris and keeps the control area looking tidy. What it does:

I ordered a door/lid switch kit and an actuator and replaced them both. I probably didn't need the actuator, but it probably didn't hurt to replace it. The only issue I had was that the switch didn't seem to fit that well when installed on it's own, along with the actuator. So, I used the plastic shield which I had, along with the switch and actuator, as well as the old screws, as the screws that came with the kit were not long enough to accommodate the switch, actuator, and... Plunger kit includes: Plunger, rivit and nylon insert.
Replaced it: Loosened and lifted the wig wag solenoid used a drill with grindstone and ground off the rivet head, swapped the new part in... BUT... the kit didnt contain the rivet clip so I had to hit the hardware store for a pushnut that fit, hopefully it will stay on. Read more
