Joseph D Mechanicville , NY February 17, 2015 Appliance: Model KAWE564WAL1 (KITCHEN AID) The spin cycle on my washing machine was not working due to a faulty door/lid switch I ordered a door/lid switch kit and an actuator and replaced them both. I probably didn't need the actuator, but it probably didn't hurt to replace it. The only issue I had was that the switch didn't seem to fit that well when installed on it's own, along with the actuator. So, I used the plastic shield which I had, along with the switch and actuator, as well as the old screws, as the screws that came with the kit were not long enough to accommodate the switch, actuator, and shield. Basically, the shield just allowed additional spacing for the actuator/switch to line up more correctly with the door/lid part that activates the switch. Just a minor adjustment, but all is well. Kudos are in order to Erica, the very helpful rept. I chatted with on-line, as well the parts I ordered being delivered in less than 24-hrs.
