The top portion of the washing machine's agitator that creates the washing action by moving clothes through the water. Replace if clothes aren't getting clean, the agitator moves loosely, or the auger is cracked or broken.
After figuring out this had nothing to do with "dogs" as most videos suggested (I don't even think this agitator has them.) I determined that the two part upper had worn down connector clips (I'm sure there's a proper name for them but I never saw anything that described this problem) I simply followed the online video for removal of the upper agitator and put the new one on. A word of caution though. There is a metal and a rubber washer under the bottom nut that you'll need to salvage... Read more
