John T Nokomis , FL March 12, 2014 Upper Agitator Not spinning After figuring out this had nothing to do with "dogs" as most videos suggested (I don't even think this agitator has them.) I determined that the two part upper had worn down connector clips (I'm sure there's a proper name for them but I never saw anything that described this problem) I simply followed the online video for removal of the upper agitator and put the new one on. A word of caution though. There is a metal and a rubber washer under the bottom nut that you'll need to salvage because for some reason they don't come with this part and we're supposed to know that. Don't throw the old one's out and wonder why the thing comes loose like I did before digging them out of the trash! Michael M Indiana , PA November 14, 2014 Appliance: Maytag Top Loading Washer PAV2300AWW Upper agitator cogs worn Ordered the part--came in FAST--replaced the part--just that easy, just that quick. Unfortunately due to the design of this Maytag Performa washing machine, the agitator cogs are not serviceable unlike older Whirlpool built machines...so I was a little let down regarding the repair cost for a simple issue. NOT a fault of ANY parts supplier--fault is with Maytag's design--as this washing machine was only slightly used--less than 15 loads of use. If this strips out again, I'm going to be very sad. Brian T Pine Grove Mills , PA October 02, 2018 The upper agitator kept floating off New parts did the trick. Very easy to replace. Did not need to replace the base agitator, the fabric dispenser, or the screw; but, while it was apart it was simple to do.
