After many years of excellent service the burner I use most often on the top of my JenAir range rusted through. After trying to remove the burner, which was firmly rusted into place, I decided to replace the cooktop pan, both burners and igniters. It was an easy repair to swap out the new parts for the old, and the only tool necessary was a #2 phillips screw driver. I noticed the spark from the electrode was weak, and sparking intermittently Upon visual inspection, I found the white insulation around the electrode had cracked on one, and was starting to show hairline cracks on the other. The electrode is held in by one screw underneath the stove top. On our particular unit, when you open the top oven door, there are two screws accessible on under the front of the stove top.
