Seal (Drain Cover)
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP3369031

This drain cover seal creates a watertight gasket between the washer's drain cover and housing to help stop leaks and keep lint and debris out of the drain pump area, restoring reliable drainage and reducing mess. What it does:

  • Seals the drain cover to prevent water from leaking at the base of the tub or access area.
  • Helps block lint, coins and small debris from entering the drain pump housing.
  • Restores proper drainage by maintaining a secure, even seal around the drain opening.
  • Can reduce recurring puddles or water on the floor near the washer's front/bottom.
What's included: One drain cover seal. Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and turn off water supply before starting work.
  • Remove the drain cover/access panel per your model's instructions and clean mating surfaces before installing the new seal.
  • Press or seat the seal evenly into the cover/housing; confirm correct orientation and full contact around the perimeter.
  • After reassembly, restore power/water and run a short test cycle to check for leaks.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The door latch would not catch as a result i was unable to use my dishwasher   Joel C. • Shreveport , LA • January 09, 2016

I ordered the Door Switch Kit, along with a few other items. However, the switch kit was all that was needed. Isimply followed the instructions that came with the kit. It was necessary to cut the wires which connected to the wire assembly in the door of the dishwasher. I then connected the pieces from the switch kit and then connected the end pieces to the door. I closed the door, and started up the dishwasher. It worked as well as before. Read more

Water Level Switch (Float)
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP99002560

This water level switch senses the dishwasher's tub float and controls the water inlet. Replacing a worn switch restores correct filling, helping prevent overfilling or dry cycles that can reduce cleaning performance. What it does:

  • Monitors the float position to open/close the fill circuit at the proper water level
  • Common symptoms: dishwasher won't fill or stops filling too soon
  • May also cause continuous filling/overfill if contacts are stuck closed
  • Intermittent operation can leave the tub underfilled and washing performance poor

What's included:

  • 1 water level (float) switch

Install notes:

  • Disconnect power and shut off the water supply before servicing
  • Remove the toe/kick panel to access the switch near the float assembly under the tub
  • Note wire positions; transfer connectors one at a time and secure the switch in its bracket
  • The float moves freely and actuates the switch before reassembly and testing

This part fixes the following symptoms
  • Will not drain
  • Won't start
  • Will not fill with water

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dishwasher wouldn't drain   Ken S. • Columbus , OH • August 18, 2018

I called and talked to a customer service rep and she helped me troubleshoot the problem and order the correct part. She also sent me the pdf of the repair manual and I followed its instructions to replace the drain solenoid. It was a fairly easy repair. I wasn't sure if I would need the water level control switch, but I ordered it to be on the safe side. Turns out the original is still good. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Problem with detergent cup lid.   John M. • Craig , CO • November 27, 2017

The foam was shot on the detergent cup lid. Hard as a rock. Causing caking problems, dribble down the inside wall of the door and leaving lumps of detergent. Cut the door in half wit aviation snips and pulled out the two halves. Discovered at this point that the spring had gone soft. Bought one ahead of time, so I was set. Put the spring on the left pin, put the spring pin in the door, slipped the door into place (open) and put the right pin in with pliers. Door snaps open now. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Water backing up into dishwasher from sink bad check valve   Russell B. • Hattiesburg , MS • January 18, 2015

Installed new Collector W/check Valve on the bottom of the dishwasher tub. About a 30 minute job (including removing the dishwasher from the cabinets--water supply, drain, and power--and reinstalling it. It would be nice if the manufacturer supplied the rubber check valve separately--small piece of rubber about the size of a nickel, probably $1 to $2--instead of selling it only as part of a $38 assembly.
