I took the pump apart to exam, checked drain hose and sink drain first, everything looked OK. After studying the problem for a while I decided it had to be in the filter, ordered a new filter and it took about 10 minutes to replace. After getting the new filter I realized that there was a check ball rattling inside the new one that my old filter did not have anymore, the real cause for the pump not to drain. P.S. Found that the lower wash arm was rotating slowly due to Hard Water build up. Prior to replacement ran an empty load using CLR in-order to breakdown the Lime and Calcium build up. Once that was completed and rinsed (several cycles) completely, I was able to install the parts in less than 5mins. and now the Dishwasher is like new, being a 10yr. old unit. Ron Read more
Removed dishwasher to replace spray arm pine--I replaced washer on pipe, too, and would recommend doing this just on principal. Removing dishwasher requires disconnecting power, water, and drain line--tools will vary depending on connections. i replaced drain line because original install was not done correctly--hose too short--You could probably do just this w/o pulling unit. My son fixed it. Problem was one of the spinner pieces had worked itself loose and jammed the large arm from freely spinning. Read more
