Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Our dishwasher was not cleaning the dishes no water pressure it seemed   Melissa F. • Falls Church , VA • June 06, 2015

I looked in the bottom of the dishwasher and saw that the center piece of the water wheel had somehow come loose. That center piece was lodged under the heating element and was now somewhat beaten and melted. We looked on line for an illustrated parts breakdown and found it on Appliance Parts Pros website. The diagram was so clear and straight forward that it was easy to see the part that we needed and another part (when we looked) we also found missing. Well, 3 days later the parts came in... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Problem with detergent cup lid.   John M. • Craig , CO • November 27, 2017

The foam was shot on the detergent cup lid. Hard as a rock. Causing caking problems, dribble down the inside wall of the door and leaving lumps of detergent. Cut the door in half wit aviation snips and pulled out the two halves. Discovered at this point that the spring had gone soft. Bought one ahead of time, so I was set. Put the spring on the left pin, put the spring pin in the door, slipped the door into place (open) and put the right pin in with pliers. Door snaps open now. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dishwasher would fill then shut off when restarted it would try to fill again overflowing   Robert J. • Schererville , IN • July 02, 2016

I replaced the float switch. It was an easy enough repair. I didn't have to remove the dishwasher to do the work. The part is accessible from behind the front skirt. The only problem was there is not a lot of space to work in. Getting the fastener off and on requires a stubby nut driver. I used a flexible extension instead. I had to feel for the nut as the bottom of the door blocked my view. A ten minute job and the dishwasher is back in service (for half the cost of my local parts place) While... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Flappers on docking station were worn out and/or missing also the pump filter fabric was torn so a new pump filter was installed as well   Gregory P. • Mansfield , OH • January 01, 2017

Dishes were 'gritty' with an almost invisible coating of specks smaller than grains of salt. Prior to ordering parts, I had to determine which part(s) needed replaced and which could benefit from a good cleaning. After viewing Appliance Parts Pros YouTube Videos, I removed the Main Manifold (snaps right off) including the Top Spray Arm. I discovered the Flappers of the Docking Station (AP6009888) were worn out and/or missing. I removed the Docking Station simply by popping the old one off... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Door latch on my maytag dish washer broke   Richard K. • Raynham , MA • March 02, 2015

Got my son to fix it for me. He had to pull the dishwasher out from under the counter to reach the remaining part of the door latch. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Leaking hose upper spray arm and drain hose replacement   Elizabeth D. • Afton , VA • May 19, 2015

Removed dishwasher to replace spray arm pine--I replaced washer on pipe, too, and would recommend doing this just on principal. Removing dishwasher requires disconnecting power, water, and drain line--tools will vary depending on connections. i replaced drain line because original install was not done correctly--hose too short--You could probably do just this w/o pulling unit. All parts arrived very quickly and fit correctly. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Upper spray arm fell off!   Grant I. • Lombard , IL • March 14, 2017

Found the retaining clip on the parts list. Watched the videos to figure out how the upper arm attaches. Tried cleaning out the terribly clogged upper arm. Then looked at the lower wash arm--WOW! Talk about ugly clogs! Watched second video to see how that lower arm comes off. Got the lower arm off and realized all the gunk I was able to poke out of the holes would just come back, so replaced both spray arms. YES, the upper arm includes the retaining clip!! Parts arrived in 1.5 days.... Read more
