Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Our dishwasher was not cleaning the dishes no water pressure it seemed   Melissa F. • Falls Church , VA • June 06, 2015

I looked in the bottom of the dishwasher and saw that the center piece of the water wheel had somehow come loose. That center piece was lodged under the heating element and was now somewhat beaten and melted. We looked on line for an illustrated parts breakdown and found it on Appliance Parts Pros website. The diagram was so clear and straight forward that it was easy to see the part that we needed and another part (when we looked) we also found missing. Well, 3 days later the parts came in... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Needed new top and bottom dishwasher racks   Barbara S. • Apple Valley , CA • October 07, 2015

Bought them:) The top rack was more difficult as the water "spout" on the bottom of the top rack needed to be removed and put on the new rack. There were no instructions, and it was difficult to get snapped off. I didn't want to break it. It was easy to snap in place on the new rack however, once I got it off. The bottom rack just slid on. Dishwasher Door Latch Hook
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP99001355

This door latch hook engages with the door strike to securely hold your dishwasher door closed during operation. It ensures proper sealing and prevents the door from opening while the unit is running. Replace this hook if the door won't stay closed, water leaks from the door area, or the latch mechanism feels loose.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Door latch on my maytag dish washer broke   Richard K. • Raynham , MA • March 02, 2015

Got my son to fix it for me. He had to pull the dishwasher out from under the counter to reach the remaining part of the door latch. He removed the spring mechanism and placed it onto the new replacement latch and replaced the single screw holding the latch onto the dishwasher. Took him about half an hour. It's good to have sons! Fix dishwasher leaks or drainage issues with this flexible drain hose. Routes wastewater from pump to household drain. Moderate DIY repair, 1-2 hours.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Leaking hose upper spray arm and drain hose replacement   Elizabeth D. • Afton , VA • May 19, 2015

Removed dishwasher to replace spray arm pine--I replaced washer on pipe, too, and would recommend doing this just on principal. Removing dishwasher requires disconnecting power, water, and drain line--tools will vary depending on connections. i replaced drain line because original install was not done correctly--hose too short--You could probably do just this w/o pulling unit. All parts arrived very quickly and fit correctly. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Leaking at the front of the dishwasher and junk on the dishes after washing   Michael R. • Los Angeles , CA • March 08, 2016

Part I ordered was not the problem. The corners of the dishwasher were loaded with garbage, grease and other foodstuffs. I digitally cleaned out the corners, re-seated the door seal and used a cleaner in the machine. Did two courses of cleaning. Also needed to clean the pump screen and top of the pump. Lots of junk there. All of this fixed the leaking and the junk on the dishes. Hardest part was loosening the duct from the top impeller to the pump. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Upper spray arm fell off!   Grant I. • Lombard , IL • March 14, 2017

Found the retaining clip on the parts list. Watched the videos to figure out how the upper arm attaches. Tried cleaning out the terribly clogged upper arm. Then looked at the lower wash arm--WOW! Talk about ugly clogs! Watched second video to see how that lower arm comes off. Got the lower arm off and realized all the gunk I was able to poke out of the holes would just come back, so replaced both spray arms. YES, the upper arm includes the retaining clip!! Parts arrived in 1.5 days.... Read more
