We put in the door latch and it did not fix problem so we installed the control panel and bingo it worked. So I'll return the handle soon but will not take the door latch off. This was the best experience ever - no repairman to call and wait on and no hassles. Thank you for your help and cooperation. Greatly appreciated - I actually dealt with Robin Hartness - awesome. No longer includes course threaded sleeve. When replacing upgrade to new motor. For new motor, order from parts list by model number.
Searched the dishwasher model on ApplianceParts (had used them for a washing machine repair a few years earlier). Was looking for an exploded diagram of the internal parts so I could figure out what might be the problem. There was a video for a motor seal repair kit that seemed to address the bearings which is what I suspected was the culprit.
