This part is a replacement dryer tub. If the current dryer tub is broken or defective, this part can be used for replacement. It is intended for use with a variety of dryer models. The dryer tub is what holds clothes or materials that need to be dryer and rotates them in order to ensure they are dried sufficiently. Over time or with regular appliance use, this part may corrode, crack, dent, bend, or be otherwise damaged, requiring replacement. Ensure the appliance is entirely disconnected from the power source before attempting any repairs. It's recommended that work gloves are worn for protection.This is a genuine OEM part made by Whirlpool and has been sourced directly from the manufacturer. This dryer tub is suitable for use on a variety of dryer models manufactured by Whirlpool, Maytag, Crosley, and some other brands. It is sold individually.
After watching the videos online that Appliance Parts Pros provided, I decided to tackle the project myself. It was as simple as removing the door and front cover of the dryer and removing the drum. The seal had popped off of the plastic gasket, and due to the blower fan blades and the heat, it was not able to fit properly back on the unit. After spending a week researching new dryers (I was ready to drop the credit card down...) I pulled the unit apart and found the issue with the seal. After receiving the new part, it took me about 15 minutes to put the new one on... its a little tricky if you don't take the whole front apart. First, replaced the bad door switch still won't start. Then, check the circuit breaker to the dryer found this too is bad. Replaced circuit breaker. Problem solved. Read more
With a little research - found Appliance Parts Pros and the instructional video on how to repair the flat style dryer igniter. To my surprise - the repair video showed what appeared to be my exact model or very similar to it.
