Jennifer L Holmen , WI December 18, 2016 Appliance: Maytag Gas Dryer MDG7600AWW Gas dryer would not ignite (no heat) With a little research - found Appliance Parts Pros and the instructional video on how to repair the flat style dryer igniter. To my surprise - the repair video showed what appeared to be my exact model or very similar to it. I ordered the igniter kit as well as the hinge hole covers (the originals had crumbled after years of being on the dryer). The parts arrived at my doorstep in a couple days. I would have been able to make the repair in about 15-30 minutes - however, I took the opportunity to clean a few cob-webs, lint, and dust with a Shop Vac while the door/front panel was off during the repair. I used a #2 Philips screwdriver, a very small flat screwdriver and a 1/4" ratcheting combination wrench to make the repairs. It was basically "plug and play" with the parts that were sent. No need to use the wire nuts or screw that came with the igniter on my model number dryer. Hinge covers went on easily. For me - it was just follow the video. It was nice to hear that igniter kick in when I took it for a "test drive" after the repair. Very satisfied customer. Read More...
