This sensor plate is located inside your dryer and detects the moisture level of your clothes as they tumble against it, signaling the dryer to stop when the load is dry. It allows the dryer to run on automatic dry cycles rather than fixed time, protecting your clothes from over-drying. Replace this part if your dryer stops too early and clothes come out damp, or runs too long and over-dries every load.

I initially decided to replace the flame sensor (most common failure), the high cut-off thermostat, the thermistor & moisture sensor (since the auto cycle didn’t seem to work at all), and the igniter (after I may have damaged it while cleaning the heat chamber).
