Steve W Stillman Valley , IL May 07, 2020 Appliance: Maytag Gas Dryer NGD7200TW10 Gas dryer would not thoroughly dry clothes. I initially decided to replace the flame sensor (most common failure), the high cut-off thermostat, the thermistor & moisture sensor (since the auto cycle didn’t seem to work at all), and the igniter (after I may have damaged it while cleaning the heat chamber). I added the remaining thermostat since everything else was being replaced. This did NOT fix my problem. After several google searches, I came across a post that described weak gas valve coils that would work for several cycles, then would not be strong enough to open the valve. This sounded exactly like my situation, so I ordered the coils only ($18 versus $260 for the entire valve assembly). This fixed my problem. The thermistor and moisture sensor were probably good replacements since the auto cycle works fine again. Read More...
