Restores proper tension to your dryer's lint screen door for smooth opening and closing. Replace if the cover is loose or won't stay closed securely.
This is a safety switch that detects whether the dryer drum belt is intact and properly tensioned. When the belt breaks, this switch cuts power to the drive motor to prevent the dryer from running without the drum spinning. Replace this switch if your dryer won't start even with a new belt installed, or if the switch no longer triggers properly when belt tension is lost.

This was pretty straightforward; however I did this alone, and had to use 3 vise grip pliers to GENTLY hold the seal as I worked it onto the drum. This is the socket that holds the drum light bulb inside the dryer. It provides the electrical connection to power the interior light that illuminates the drum when the door is opened. Replace this socket if the dryer drum light does not turn on even with a new bulb, or if the socket appears melted, cracked, or has damaged electrical contacts.
First I tried changing the light bulb. Unfortunately that didn't do the trick. The next thought was the socket itself. I ordered the part from APP, which as usual, was very easy and arrived in 2 days. I removed the back cover from the dryer and easily replaced the socket. Dryer not heating or flames won't ignite? This gas valve assembly controls gas flow to restore heat. Moderate DIY repair that fixed no-heat issues.
I changed all the fuses, thermostats and I changed the gas coils, which were all easy. Still I had no flames, then I changed the gas valve. Now everything is like new. One of the sales representatives was a little impatient and kept trying to rush my ordering. I'm a novice to the appliance repair world, so I think representives should be mindful of the newbies.
