Very easy fix. Remove oven door by just opening it slightly and pulling up. (an easy way to clean it too). Then, with a phillips screw driver, remove two screws holding the damaged element in place. Slowly pull the element toward the front a couple inched to expose the wires. Disconnect the wires (no tools needed), remove the old element and replace it with the new. Used thick pad on kitchen table to hold oven door. Open door to first position (broil) and used soft leather gloves to lift up and remove. Door is heaver than it looks. Used screw driver to remove all screws from bottom and side trims. Removed side trims then bottom trim. It was not part of the repair, but I removed front glass to clean. I used to have a ferret that liked to steal socks but I did not know she had been crawlinging into my stove to hide stuff. She had made a nest out of the insulation but did not hurt any wires. Original oven handle broke off. Ordered part from AppliancePartsPros.com - the handle was identical to the original. Only trouble I had was finding the correct screws to secure the handle to the oven door. If you order, you might want to order the retaining screws too. I didn't but was able to find a couple of screws to fit. The price of the handle was competitive. Read more
